Australian Government Hearing Services Program

If you are a pensioner or DVA client, you may be eligible for hearing aids through the Australian Government Hearing Services Program.

Eligible clients can receive free digital hearing aids with features such as:

• Automatic volume control
• Programs for different listening situations
• Noise reduction for clearer hearing in background noise
• Bluetooth connectivity for streaming from smartphones or TVs

For most day-to-day situations, these free hearing aids are sufficient.  Only in very challenging listening environments, such as meetings or large groups, might higher-technology aids be needed. Higher-technology hearing aids that are partly-subsidised by the Hearing Services Program are available.
