WHAT IF I AM A PENSIONER?
The Australian Government Hearing Services Program
If you are a pensioner or Department of Veterans’ Affairs client, you may be eligible for hearing aids through the Australian Government Hearing Services Program. Eligible pensioners are entitled to receive free digital hearing aids that have a variety of features such as automatic volume control, different programs for different listening situations, automatic noise reduction for better performance in background noise and bluetooth connectivity for streaming from your smartphone or TV. So unless you are frequently in very difficult listening situations such as meetings or large groups, the free hearing aids are likely to meet most of your day-to-day hearing needs. In our experience, very few pensioners need to “top up” and spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on high-technology hearing aids!
