Do You need a referral?
You will need a referral if:
- You want an appointment at the Goulburn Valley Health Audiology clinic located in The Hub at the Graham Street hospital campus in Shepparton
- The referral must be in writing and made by a medical practitioner (eg you GP or ENT specialist),
- For children, referrals can also be made by a Maternal & Child Health Nurse, School Nurse, Speech Pathologist or other Audiologist
You do not need a referral if:
- You will not be making a Medicare or private health insurance claim for services
- You are concerned about your child’s hearing and would like an assessment
- You are a pensioner and eligible for services under the Australian Government’s Hearing Services Program
- You have experienced a sudden hearing loss.
- If you have had a sudden change in hearing, please ring us at Goulburn Valley Hearing Clinic straight away. We will do what we can to arrange an appointment as soon as possible.
Fees and Eligibility: Goulburn Valley Health Audiology Clinic
- Children under 18, DVA clients, and hospital Outpatients are free
- For all other clients, a means-tested co-payment is required. This co-payment ranges between $9.00 and $60.00
Private Appointments: Goulburn Valley Hearing Clinic
- If you prefer to be seen privately at Goulburn Valley Hearing Clinic and you intend to make a Medicare or private health insurance claim then you will also need a written referral from a medical practitioner
